Chronicle of GD Security


1984

GD Security Systems Ltd formed by Bert Newitt utilising his 20 years experience in the design and management of large construction projects.

1986

The company was admitted to full membership of the NSCIA (subsequently became NACOSS).

1990

By merging with the company owned by Barry Jones the GD's expertise and portfolio was expanded to cover Closed Circuit TV and Access Control Systems.

1991

GD Security again merged, this time with an electrical installation company owned by Trevor Bray. Trevor’s expertise in organising projects and engineering staff enhanced the company’s ability to tender for large projects.

1992

Les Davies joined GD Security to expand the company’s Intruder Alarm aspect. Special emphasis was put on the Surrey area; the Surrey sales office was opened.

1993

GD Security was awarded BS5750 accreditation. The certificate of quality assurance.

1994

The integrated and special projects department was formed and headed by Barry Jones.

1995

GD Security gained accreditation for ISO 9002, the European standard of quality. Les Davies further expanded the company’s boundaries by opening the Hampshire sales office.

1999

GD Security was accredited for NACOSS & ISO9002, the European standard of quality, for Access Control and Closed Circuit Television Systems.

2001

The well earned retirement of Bert Newitt sparked a management restructure and a new era for GD Security.

2004

GD Security have been upgraded to NACOSS Gold accreditation on the 5th April for consistently meeting the industry’s highest standards through ISO9000 Quality Management as well as the relevant British and European Standards.
